Activity Proceedings
The Department of Media, Maharishi University, Noida, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organised a workshop titled "एक खबर – तीन माध्यम" on 16th September 2026 at the Maharishi University, Noida Campus.
The workshop focused on the presentation of news across three major media platforms — Print, Television, and Digital Media. The session aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of how the same news story can be researched, structured, written, and presented differently according to the characteristics and requirements of different media platforms.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Singh Baghel, Professor and Media Expert, University of Delhi, and President of India Awardee. Drawing upon his expertise in media and journalism, the expert session provided students with an opportunity to understand the changing nature of news production and presentation in the contemporary media environment.
The theme of the workshop was particularly relevant for media students, as the boundaries between traditional and digital journalism continue to evolve.
The workshop helped students connect their classroom learning with the practical aspects of professional media production. It also encouraged them to understand the importance of adapting content according to the medium while maintaining accuracy, clarity, and journalistic relevance.
On the occasion, while proposing the vote of thanks, Dr. Shambhoo Sharan Gupta, Head of the Department, said that today's media students need to learn how to present the same news story effectively across different media platforms. He emphasized that students should develop practical and technical skills so that they can confidently work across print, television, and digital media.
At the beginning of the programme, Dr. Mithilesh Kumar and Dr. Monica Gaur welcomed the expert, Prof. Sanjay Singh Baghel, by presenting him with a traditional stole and a diary.
Conclusion
The workshop was a valuable learning experience for the students and helped them understand how one news story can be presented differently across different media platforms, strengthening their practical and analytical skills relevant to professional journalism.
