Hands-on Training Workshop

7-11 September, 2026

 (Monday-Friday)  9:00 am–4:00 pm

Organized by: Maharishi School of Pharmaceuticals in coordination with IQAC

Objective of the Activity

The objective of the five-day Hands-on Training Workshop was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by providing B.Pharm 4th Year students with direct, hands-on exposure to advanced pharmaceutical instruments, laboratory procedures, and essential technical skills. The workshop aimed to strengthen students' proficiency in operating key pharmaceutical instruments, familiarize them with standard laboratory practices, and reinforce the principles of laboratory safety, thereby preparing them for advanced practical and research work in pharmaceutical sciences.

Participating Students

Students from the B.Pharm 4th Year of the Maharishi School of Pharmaceuticals (MSOP) participated in the training programme. A total of 42 students took part and were accompanied and guided by Deputy Dean, Mr. Ankit Tyagi.

Activity Proceedings

The Maharishi School of Pharmaceuticals (MSOP), Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida, in coordination with the IQAC, organized a five-day Hands-on Training Workshop for B.Pharm 4th Year students from 7th to 11th September 2026 at R. V. Northland Institute (Pharmacy), Dadri, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The training was conducted daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and provided students with valuable practical exposure and hands-on training in various pharmaceutical laboratory techniques and instrumental methods, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Viscometer, Animal Handling, Probe Sonicator, and UV-Visible Spectrophotometer.

Throughout the workshop, students were guided through the operating principles, calibration, and practical applications of each instrument, along with the associated sample preparation techniques and safety protocols. Sessions were structured to allow students to perform procedures individually under supervision, enabling a deeper, experience-based understanding of instrumental analysis and laboratory methodology.

Learning Outcomes

Through this training programme, students were able to:

  • Operate and understand the working principles of advanced pharmaceutical instruments such as HPLC, FTIR, Viscometer, Probe Sonicator, and UV-Visible Spectrophotometer.
  • Gain practical experience in animal handling techniques as per standard laboratory protocols.
  • Develop competency in sample preparation, instrument calibration, and data interpretation.
  • Strengthen their understanding of laboratory safety practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Relate theoretical concepts from their academic curriculum to real-time instrumental and analytical techniques.
  • Build confidence and technical proficiency required for pharmaceutical research, quality control, and industry-oriented laboratory work.

Conclusion

The five-day Hands-on Training Workshop successfully provided experiential learning opportunities that strengthened the technical competencies of the participating students. By offering direct exposure to advanced pharmaceutical instruments and laboratory practices, the programme effectively bridged the gap between classroom theory and practical application. The training contributed meaningfully to the students' overall academic and professional development, equipping them with skills essential for future roles in pharmaceutical research, quality control, and the pharmaceutical industry
