The initiative served as a meaningful platform for fostering social awareness, nurturing respect for India's constitutional values, and providing students with an immersive experiential learning opportunity beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

Event Overview

The educational visit commenced in the morning hours in an atmosphere of curiosity and enthusiasm under the gracious presence and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Archana Pandey, Dean of the School of Sciences and Humanities. The visit was organized under her guidance and the supervision of faculty members Dr. Alok Kumar Verma, Dr. Nishikant Bharti, and Dr. Rinkal Tyagi, with the express aim of exposing students to the life, struggles, and contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. The Memorial, located at 26, Alipur Road, New Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar spent his last days, provided an ideal and inspiring setting for this educational engagement. Students from across the two semesters participated enthusiastically, bringing genuine curiosity and intellectual engagement to the experience.

Objectives of the Visit

The visit to the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial was designed to enrich students' understanding of India's democratic and constitutional heritage by engaging directly with exhibits on Ambedkar's life and work. It aimed to deepen constitutional awareness by allowing students to explore his contributions to law, social reform, and political philosophy. The experience sought to bridge classroom learning with real-world encounters, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with tangible evidence of Ambedkar's struggles and achievements.

A key objective was to develop critical observation by encouraging students to interpret historical contexts and reflect on social justice movements that continue to shape modern India. Through guided tours, group discussions, and note-taking, the visit promoted experiential learning, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity. Ultimately, the Memorial inspired students to respect India's democratic values and appreciate the sacrifices and struggles that laid the foundation for equality, liberty, and fraternity in the nation.

Highlights of the Visit

The visit to the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial offered students a rare opportunity to engage with India's democratic journey and the life of one of its greatest reformers. One of the most striking highlights was the Life and Struggles Gallery, where students observed photographs, personal belongings, and documents that vividly illustrated Ambedkar's journey from humble beginnings to becoming the architect of the Indian Constitution. These exhibits provided tangible insights into his resilience and determination in the face of social challenges.

Equally captivating was the Constitution Drafting Section, which displayed manuscripts, replicas, and exhibits highlighting Ambedkar's pivotal role in framing the Constitution. Students were particularly drawn to the exhibits on equality, liberty, and fraternity, which underscored the values that continue to shape India's democracy. This section allowed them to connect classroom lessons on political theory and law with real evidence of constitutional development.

The Social Reform Exhibits showcased Ambedkar's campaigns against caste discrimination and untouchability, inspiring students to reflect on the importance of social justice and inclusivity. The Audio-Visual Presentations enriched the experience by narrating Ambedkar's speeches and writings, making the visit interactive and intellectually stimulating.

Finally, the Memorial Architecture itself, with its serene design and Buddhist influences, provided a contemplative environment for reflection. The symbolic elements of the structure encouraged students to appreciate how architecture can embody values of peace, equality, and dignity.

Overall, the highlights of the visit underscored the Memorial's role as a custodian of India's democratic heritage.
