“The Investor’s Paradigm Shift from Traditional Pattern to Modern Investment”

20th August, 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 02:00 PM Onwards
Venue: Room No. F-106, MSoBM Department

Objective of the Event

The objective of the event was to help students understand the evolving landscape of investment in India and to build awareness of how investor behaviour is shifting from conventional, low-engagement avenues towards dynamic, technology-driven investment platforms. The session aimed to bridge the gap between traditional financial wisdom and the tools, products, and mindsets that define modern investing.

The activity focused on:

  • Comparing traditional investment avenues such as fixed deposits, gold, and real estate with modern investment instruments such as equities, mutual funds, SIPs, and digital asset classes.
  • Understanding the role of financial technology (FinTech) and digital platforms in making investing more accessible, transparent, and data-driven.
  • Building awareness of risk-return trade-offs, diversification, and long-term wealth creation strategies suited to a changing market environment.

Participating Students

The session witnessed the active participation of 45 students from the MBA, BBA, and B.Com programmes. Organized under the Finance Club initiative, students engaged enthusiastically with the discussion, case examples, and interactive segments, drawing connections between classroom concepts and real-world investment decision-making.

Event Details

The Finance Club at Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida, organized an engaging session on “The Investor’s Paradigm Shift from Traditional Pattern to Modern Investment”

The event was designed to help students critically examine how investment behaviour in India has transformed over the past decade, and what this shift means for the next generation of investors.

The session opened with a discussion on conventional investment habits rooted in safety and familiarity, followed by an exploration of the forces reshaping the market — rising financial literacy, smartphone-based trading and investment apps, algorithm-driven advisory services, and the growing popularity of equities and mutual funds among young Indians. Students participated in interactive discussions and activity-based exercises where they analyzed sample investor profiles and proposed portfolio strategies balancing traditional stability with modern growth opportunities.

Participants were evaluated on the depth of their financial reasoning, clarity in comparing investment options, and the practicality of the strategies they proposed. The activity encouraged students to think critically about risk appetite, market awareness, and the responsible use of technology in personal finance.

The event concluded with a motivating address by Prof.(Dr.) Azad Singh (Dean, MSoBM), who commended the students' enthusiasm and encouraged them to stay informed and adaptable as India's investment landscape continues to evolve in line with the nation's growing financial ecosystem.
