REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY 2026

Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida Campus, celebrated Independence Day with immense enthusiasm, pride, and a deep sense of patriotism. Students, faculty members, dignitaries, staff, and other members of the university came together to honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and armed forces, reflecting the spirit of “Nation First.”

The programme commenced in an atmosphere of unity and patriotic fervour. Students presented captivating dance performances and soulful singing performances that portrayed the glory of the nation, the courage of our soldiers, and the spirit of freedom. The cultural presentations inspired the gathering with the message that freedom is not merely a right but also a responsibility entrusted to every citizen.

The dignitaries present on the occasion were warmly welcomed and honoured. Dean Academics, Dr. Trapty Agarwal provided an overview of the event and highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the values of patriotism, unity, sacrifice, and national responsibility. She also felicitated the Guest of Honour, Wing Commander A. K. Dwivedi, whose presence added honour and inspiration to the celebration.

Wing Commander A. K. Dwivedi addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of patriotism, discipline, dedication, and the responsibilities of the younger generation towards the nation. His inspiring words encouraged students to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of India.

The celebration concluded with a meaningful plantation drive reflecting the university’s dedication to environmental responsibility and national service. The initiative was spearheaded by Mr. Girish Agnihotri with the objective of planting 500 saplings in memory of martyred soldiers. The campaign was carried out with the inspiring motto, “Ek Ped, Ek Shaheed” — One Tree, One Martyr.

The initiative beautifully connected patriotism with environmental stewardship, symbolising that every planted tree is a living tribute to the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The event was graced by Dean Academics, Deputy Dean Academics Prof. Dr. Neelu Tiwari, Dean of Students Welfare Dr. Archana Pandey, all Departmental Deans, faculty members, staff, and students. Their participation contributed significantly to the success of the celebration.

The Independence Day celebration at Maharishi University is a meaningful expression of patriotism, remembrance, unity, and responsibility. The combination of inspiring addresses, vibrant cultural performances, patriotic songs, and the “Ek Ped, Ek Shaheed” plantation drive made the occasion memorable.

The celebration concluded with a strong message: let us honour the freedom we have inherited, respect the sacrifices that secured it, and dedicate ourselves to building a stronger, greener, and more responsible India.
