association with IQAC & in collaboration with IBM
The Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology (MSoET), Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Noida Campus, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an industry-oriented Expert Talk on Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning Tools for Digital Transformations on 20th March 2026. The session was open to IBM and Non-IBM students of the Batch of 2025 admissions, with the primary objective of bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world industry applications.
The session was delivered by Mr. Rahul Batra, Strategic Growth Leader at IBM, who brought over 10 years of domain expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, and Data Science. The talk provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving technology landscape, IBM's strategic vision, and career opportunities in AI and data-driven industries.
The session was led by Mr. Rahul Batra, who delivered an insightful and engaging talk covering the following major areas:
1. Introduction to IBM and Strategic Vision
Mr. Batra opened the session with an overview of IBM as a global technology leader, tracing its evolution from a hardware company to a leading AI and cloud services provider. He elaborated on IBM's strategic vision for the future — centred on Hybrid Cloud, AI, and enterprise transformation — and explained how IBM partners with academic institutions like MUIT to prepare the next generation of tech professionals.
2. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
A significant portion of the session was dedicated to building a strong conceptual foundation in AI and ML. Mr. Batra explained the difference between traditional programming and machine learning, covering supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning with relatable examples. He introduced deep learning, neural networks, and NLP, and helped students understand how these technologies underpin products they use daily.
3. IBM Cloud and IBM Watson Services
Mr. Batra provided an in-depth walkthrough of IBM Cloud and IBM Watson services. He demonstrated how Watson Studio enables data scientists to build, train, and deploy machine learning models at scale. IBM Cognos was highlighted as a powerful tool for business intelligence and data analytics, while IBM Cloud was presented as the backbone infrastructure enabling scalable AI deployments across industries.
4. Real-Time Case Studies & Industry Applications
To make the session highly practical and relatable, Mr. Batra presented real-time case studies from multiple industries:
5. Career Paths and Emerging Opportunities
The session concluded with highly valuable career guidance. Mr. Batra outlined the most in-demand roles in the AI and data ecosystem — including Data Scientist, ML Engineer, AI Architect, Business Analyst, and Cloud Engineer. He provided specific advice on skill development roadmaps, certifications (IBM, AWS, Azure), and how to leverage internship opportunities at IBM and partner companies.
