Introduction

On the occasion of Global Recycling Day, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, organized a Plastic Collection Drive and Awareness Rally on 18th March 2026 at 10:30 AM within the university campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students and staff.

The event focused on highlighting the importance of recycling, reducing plastic waste, and adopting eco-friendly habits in daily life. Faculty members, students, deans, and event committee members actively participated in the program, making it a meaningful and impactful initiative towards environmental conservation.

Highlights

The drive commenced near the Herbal Garden of the campus, where participants gathered and were briefed about the importance of plastic waste management and recycling. Students actively took part in collecting plastic waste from different areas of the campus, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sustainability.

Following the collection drive, an awareness rally was organized from Gate No. 4 to Gate No. 5. Participants carried placards and raised slogans to spread awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the need for responsible waste disposal. The rally effectively engaged the campus community and encouraged everyone to adopt environmentally conscious practices.

The initiative emphasized key concepts such as waste segregation, recycling methods, and reducing plastic usage in everyday life. Students showed great enthusiasm and teamwork, contributing to the success of the event.
