Workshop on Prime Time to Newsroom

Objective of the Visit:

 

The purpose of the event was to familiarize students with real-time newsroom operations and the requirements of a prime-time news anchor. It also aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to professional media practices.

 

Participating Students:

Students from BA (J&MC) and MA (J&MC), along with the faculty members of the department, participated in the workshop.

The Maharishi School of Media and Animation (MUIT, Noida Campus) organized a workshop in which renowned journalist Anuraag Muskaan was invited as the guest speaker. He is currently working as a Consulting Editor at Zee News and is hosting the prime-time shows Tal Thok Ke and Dehleej. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize students with the real-time working environment of a newsroom in a news channel. The session was very informative, engaging, and motivating for the students.

During the workshop, he spoke about Gen Z, their challenges, and career opportunities. He explained that today’s generation often knows what they want but sometimes does not know how to achieve it. He motivated the students by emphasizing that there are no limits for a focused and determined person.

He also shared his personal experiences from his journey in journalism, including his work with Zee News, Star News, and other media organizations. Through real-life incidents, he highlighted the importance of dedication, sacrifice, and hard work in the field of journalism.

Anuraag Muskaan also discussed the importance of credibility, responsibility, and accountability in journalism. He spoke about the growing impact of social media on journalism and explained how it influences news reporting. He advised aspiring journalists to avoid biased and agenda-driven content. He also emphasized the importance of storytelling, consistency, and teamwork in the profession.

He further stated that Gen Z has the advantage of greater exposure and a wide range of career opportunities that were not available in his time. He encouraged students to make the most of these opportunities with focus and dedication. He also discussed the challenges journalists face during their work and motivated students to stay informed and aware of their surroundings.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students got the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speaker.

More than 60 students from the Department of Media, along with all the faculty members of the department, participated in the workshop. Overall, the session was highly informative, interactive, and motivating for all the students
